Mr. Raymond Sekyewa is an ICT Specialist in the Makerere University Health Informatics Research Group, with expertise in server and network infrastructure administration, enterprise ICT systems/platforms management, and cybersecurity and secure of digital platform development. His research interests encompass digital systems, AI-powered surveillance platforms, learning technologies, and data-driven systems that support evidence-based decision-making. His work focuses on designing, deploying, and managing robust digital systems that support research and digital learning in higher education and different sectors. He has contributed to developing and managing secure data infrastructures that support digital data capture, interoperability with information management systems, and the implementation of cybersecurity and server architectures.
Raymond is responsible for server monitoring and managing the NIAMR platform for the project, and providing technical implementation during the NIAMR platform design and implementation phase, ensuring secure, reliable, and sustainable server and software operations throughout the project period. He will ensure system interoperability, cybersecurity, data integrity, and alignment with existing national health information systems to support effective AMR detection and surveillance across the One Health sectors.
