Clinical Pathologist (Clinical Microbiology)

Dr. Henry Kajumbula is a clinical pathologist specialising in Clinical Microbiology at the College of Health Sciences with over 21 years. He chairs the Uganda National AMR Sub-committee which oversees the development and review of Uganda’s AMR National Action Plan and is coordinating its implementation. He also chairs the AMR Surveillance TWG that supports the AMR surveillance program and assures surveillance data quality. His research interests focus on the epidemiology and mechanisms of AMR among enteric bacteria involved in blood stream and enteric infections.

Henry is the Project Co-lead and is supporting the overall project management and coordination, and provide expertise in AMR data management being the Coordinator at National Level, as well as contribute to the development of NIAMR intervention usage guidelines, and support the mentoring, training, and skilling of the various health stakeholders of the NIAMR intervention.
